2005 TICC was unexpected. Lisa and I did not make plans to go this year. Matter
of fact we were sure.... "we weren't going". Neither of us qualified this year and we just were not going... period.
Kristi and dad qualified so they, with mom, made plans on the trip.
But.....as some of you know.. I (Candi) live in Florida. On Oct. 23rd Hurricane
Wilma hit West Palm Beach head on. I got quite a bit of damage and was out of electricity for quite sometime. I
lived on can foods and water for days.
Lisa called and asked what I wanted for my birthday and my quote to her... "I needed a
break.. I needed Terlingua."
So... the next phone call was to the airlines and next thing I knew we were making plans
and I was packing in the dark. (literally) It was a much need vacation after my 8 days without electricity and
a house that was a mess from the hurricane.
Lisa and I arrived Wednesday and surprised everyone at the Tequila Rose Party.
Saturday we did show.. as usual with the South Side bunch and placed 3rd in Large Show. Mom and Preston did show with
Finger Food Chili and placed 5th.
Coming back to my house that was still a mess was an adjustment. I guess magically
while I was gone the insurance adjuster would appear with a check and all the debri would be cleaned up, etc..... But
an unexpected TICC vacation was just the medicine I needed to make me sane thru this whole ordeal. I recommend
it for everyone. Viva Terlingua !!!
